Liam James Payne was born (1993-08-29)29th
August 1993. Payne is from Wolver Hampton, West Midlands, England. He was
a music technology student at City Of Wolver Hampton College in his
hometown. In his time as a student, Liam was very enthusiastic about sports, he
was also bullied when he attended secondary school and decided to take up boxing
lessons at the age of twelve.
Liam had once performed in front of a 26,000
crowd at a Wolver Hampton Wanderers football match. Liam
had first auditioned in 2008 to The X Factor's 5th series when he was only fourteen. He
done well in the first audition and boot camp, he even made it to the judges'
houses, but Simon Cowell didn’t think Payne was ready for this type of competition
just yet and asked Liam if he would come back in two years’ time. Liam’s
mentions Justin Timberlake as one of his greatest
influences and also states that he takes his inspiration from Take That
front man Gary Barlow while he is performing with the other 1D boys.
Harry Edward Styles was born (1994-02-01)1st February 1994. Styles is from the village of Holmes Chapel which is located in Cheshire, England. Harry went to Holmes Chapel Comprehension School. Before taking part in The X Factor, Harry had a part-time job at the W. Mandeville Bakery in his home town Holmes Chapel.
In Harry’s early years he loved singing Elvis Presley songs. Harry says that Presley was a massive influence for him. He also says Coldplay and King's Of Leon are among his other influences.
Harry was the lead singer for a band called White Eskimo. They once entered a ‘Battle of The Bands’ competition which they went on to win. Styles stated that The X Factor had gave him "a lot more" confidence in his performing skills and he looks to Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin for inspiration while he is performing on stage.
Harry has taken on the role as the lead singer of the band. I think Harry has got the best voice out of the 1D boys and he appears to be many fans favourite member of One Direction.
Niall James Horan was born on the 13th September 1993. Niall is the only irish member of One Direction and he is from Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. Horan went to an all boys school in his home town were he was a member of the school choir. Before auditioning for the X-Factor Niall used to perform around his town, Once performing as a support act in Dublin for X-Factor's former contestant Lloyd Daniels. Horan has also been playing guitar since childhood and he appears in many One Direction music videos playing the guitar and also when they are performing live on stage. Niall has said he is a 'big-swing' fan. His favourite artists include Michael Buble and Frank Sanatra as well as Dean Martin. Niall also enjoys City Rock music with acts such as Bon Jovi and The Script.
Niall is my personal favourite in One Direction as I like that he can play his own instrument and we also share a similar taste in music.
One Direction are an English/Irish boy band. They were formed in London in 2010, the members of 1D include Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. The boys of One Direction had all entered the popular British singing competition The X-Factor in 2010 as solo artists but after failing to make the cut at boot camp as solo acts, guest judge Nicole Shcherzinger suggested the boys should come back to the competition but entering into the bands category to form a five piece boy band. The boys' bands popularity grew each week as they performed live on The X-factor stage.. One direction finished third in 2010 series of The X-Factor but The boys still managed to get signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records. One Direction have became one of the most successful acts to come out of the X-Factor and have even cracked America earlier this year.
I wasnt particularly a big fan of One Direction when they were performing on The X-Factor but when they released their first single "What Makes You Beautiful" in 2011, I became a huge fan and have loved all their songs ever since.
